Mmmmmm these little bites of Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus are a decadent side. I first spotted this delicious duo at a wedding and they were so good and seemed easy enough that I just had to try them at home. And guess what? They are easy enough! But despite the simplicity of the dish, they look fancy and taste fancy so it’s a perfect side for sharing with friends.
Eat them with your fingers, eat them with a fork, eat them however you’d like but trust me-get these babies in your mouth! The saltiness from the prosciutto delicately hugs the garlicky asparagus and you will have to legitimately stop yourself from eating the entire batch.
These don’t take long at all, and can even be prepped and wrapped up ahead of time if you’re making them for let’s say, Thanksgiving!
So let’s get going…Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then heat a pan on the stove top and coat with olive oil. Toss in your asparagus and season with salt, pepper and one clove of minced garlic. Cook only for a few minute to infuse the flavors into the asparagus.
Wrap the prosciutto around the asparagus, one stalk at a time. I find it easiest to start about 1/2″-1″ from the bottom and twist upward. You won’t cover the entire asparagus but you will taste it in every bite so don’t worry. Try to twist tightly, but if you have a difficult slice of prosciutto just let it lie loose, it will still stay around it’s asparagus friend.
